Sichuan Home-Style Tofu Recipe

Ingredients for Sichuan Home-Style Tofu:
– 400g aged tofu


– 1 tablespoon Pixian bean paste


– Homemade chili sauce to taste


– Sichuan peppercorns (ground) to taste


– White sugar to taste


– Salt


– Light soy sauce


– Mrs. Lee’s chicken essence to taste


– Chopped green onions


– Minced ginger


– Water bean starch to taste



Method for Sichuan Home-Style Tofu:


Step 1: Cut the aged tofu into pieces.


Step 2: Prepare homemade chili sauce, Pixian bean paste, minced ginger, Sichuan peppercorns, and chopped green onions.


Step 3: Stir-fry the bean paste, peppercorns, and ginger until fragrant, then add sugar and salt with an appropriate amount of water.


Step 4: Add the tofu to the pan.


Step 5: When the tofu has absorbed most of the liquid, add light soy sauce and chicken essence. Serve the tofu, leaving the sauce in the pan.


Step 6: Thicken the remaining sauce with water bean starch and pour it over the tofu. Garnish with ground peppercorns and chopped green onions.
