The Sichuan-Tibet South Line, also known as the South Sichuan-Tibet Highway, stretches from east to west, starting in Chengdu, Sichuan, passing through Ya’an, Luding, Kangding, Dong’e Luo, Yajiang, Litang, Batang, into Tibet’s Markham, Zuogong, Bangda, Baxoi, Bomi, Nyingchi Bayi Town, Gongbu Jiangda, Mozhugongka, Dazi, and finally reaching Lhasa. The total length of this route is approximately 2146 kilometers and it is part of the National Highway 318. The South Line is a collective term for the Sichuan-Kangding Highway and the Kangding-Tibet Highway, which are known for their famous dangerous sections. It traverses through the high mountain and deep valley areas of eastern Tibet. The opening times and business status are subject to the daily opening conditions.
